Creating Your Own Safe Space

Stress takes up a huge part of our lives. Whether rooted in school, work, or relationships, these stressors can take a toll on our mental and physical health. It's important to realize that stress can be effectively managed, at low cost, in a fun way!

Art is a therapeutic approach that you can use everyday to keep your stress levels low.

“Your imagination is your safe space, an escape pod to another dimension where you're free to be.”

Remember - the goal of art as a healing process is not to create an award-winning masterpiece but to help express yourself in a healthy way.

Here are a few ideas for your next creation:

  • Paint or draw your emotions

  • Design a postcard you will never send

  • Draw, paint, or color your idea of a perfect day

  • Paint or color while listening to music

  • Choose colors you find calming and only use those

  • Draw or painting something or someone you have lost

Looking for more inspiration? Join us on Zoom on April 21 at 7pm for a workshop dedicated to coping with stress through creativity!
